The problem
Show how counters and gates alone can keep and display time, with no processor.
How it works
- 1Split the circuit into seconds, minutes and hours blocks, each built on 74HC192 counters
- 2Each block carries over into the next when it rolls over
- 3AND gates reset the hours block when it reaches 24
Result
The simulation keeps time like a real clock and stopwatch.
